Adrian Dewayne Wilson Smith, 68, Hopkinsville, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

Adrian, the son of the late Robert Smith and Ardenia Braxton, was born on November 29, 1957, in Christian County, Kentucky.

Adrian was employed as a stocker with WalMart after he retired from Phelps Dodge. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, cooking on the grill, and spending time with his family. He was known as the "Pit Master" .

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Rodney Braxton and Cassandra Braxton.

He is survived by his children, Adrianna Smith, Candance Poindexter, and Desmond Poindexter; siblings, Stephanie Shakesphere, Sonya (Alfred) Watkins, Elsie Newman, Kimberly (Ervin) Felton, Jamison "Verdell" (Kimberly) Smith, and Vance (Christina) Smith; 8 grandchildren; devoted lifetime partner, Charlotte Poindexter; a host of nephews & nieces, uncles & aunts, cousins & friends.
