On Thursday, April 6, 1933, in Greenville, Kentucky, a son, Alex Sutton, Jr., was born to Alex and Mary Elizabeth Wolfe Sutton.
Growing up in a Christian environment, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and joined the Campbell Street Church of Christ. He was the former Pastor of Knob City Church, Russellville, Kentucky.
During his period of employment, he worked as a security supervisor at the Earl C. Clements Job Corps. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, working on cars, and just being outside.
In addition to his parents, Alex was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Sutton, two children, Reginald Johnson and Connie Sutton, and a brother, Robert Sutton.
Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 9:13 p.m., Alex heard his Master call, and he answered, " Yes, Lord". He leaves to mourn his passing six children, Vanessa (Willie) Wilkerson, Darriel Sutton, Gregory Sutton, Ken (Carolyn) Sutton, Tammy Sutton, and Mark (Melissa) Sutton; seventeen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives, and a wide circle of friends.
