Anderson "Jimmy" Hightower, 89, Hopkinsville, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, in Hopkinsville, KY.

Anderson, the son of the late Clarence and Dorothy Hightower, was born on December 14, 1934, in Dawson, Georgia.

Anderson accepted Jesus Christ as his LORD and Savior and joined First Street Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Trustee, former Sunday School Superintendent, and was a part of the Brotherhood Choir. CW2 Hightower retired from the U.S. Army.

He enjoyed watching Alabama Football and Dallas Cowboys, being a part of the Pioneers Inc. Organization, spending time with family and friends, and eating desserts. He was involved with the Pioneers Inc., Military Affairs, Kiwanis, MOAA, 1991 Pennyrile and Charter Class of Focus 2000. He received many awards/recognition; Garrisons Commander Certificate, Ft. Campbell, KY, KY New Era Motor Route Award, Georgia Hall of Fame Nominee, Eagle Ambassador Award, 2024 Kiwanis Man of the Year, and numerous other awards.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his spouse, Mary L. Coleman.

Survivors include his daughter, Janice L. Hightower; Grandson, Jokari L. Mackie; Great Granddaughter, Moia X. Edmond.
