Barbara Jean Chambers Burrus, 82, Hopkinsville, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, in Hopkinsville, KY.

Barbara, the daughter of the late Ida and George Chambers, was born on April 17, 1943, in Christian County, KY.

Barbara was a member of Lane Tabernacle CME and was employed in Dietary for 47 years. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, shopping, and spending time with family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James William Burrus, Jr.; brother, Billy Chambers; sister, Peggy Knight.

Survivors include her children, James Burrus III, Norman Burrus, Diane Grandberry, Irene (Rodney) Knighten, and Barbara (Benji) Bussell; Siblings, Richard (Virginia) Chambers, Joe (Sharon) Chambers, George Chambers, Paul (Beverly) Chambers, Matthew Chambers, Charlie Chambers, Darden Chambers, Lewis Chambers, Mary (Lewis) Irvin, Ida (Ronnie) Merritt, Marilyn Chambers, Zola (Phil) Jackson; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
