Carolyn LaVonne Arkins Kates, 69, Christian Co., passed on Saturday, April 1, 2023.

Carolyn was the daughter of the late Wesley Leavell, Jr. and Virginia Arkins, raised by the late Mary Frances Loving. She was born on September 15, 1953, in Chrisitan County.

She was a member of the Durrett Avenue Baptist Church, was baptized by Rev. D. W. Roberts and worked in Production at TRAD.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Terrill "OL SKOOL" Moore; Grandmother, Lelia Mae Holiday; Siblings, Deborah Joyce Coleman, Ethelene Kates Parker, Frances Ann kates, Vesicelia Coleman, George Loving, Jr., and Anthony (Kamkrona) Loving

Survivors include her husband, James Ellis Kates, Sr.; Daughters, Cyrena (Joseph) Martin, Angelique (Walter) Victor; Sons, James Ellis Kates, Jr., Demond (Shaunta) Kates; Siblings, Jennifer Hadley Quarles, Velma Loving Rainey, Delma Loving, Donna Loving, Felicia Loving, Sarah Loving, Peggie Loving, Janette (the late Lloyd) Jones, Otho Lynn Kates; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
