Charles Ray Johnson, 68, Hopkinsville, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, in Madisonville, KY.

Charles, the son of the late Charles William and Evelyn Bard Johnson, was born on September 22, 1955, in Muhlenburg County, KY.

Charles was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where he served as an Usher, Church Van Driver, and Trustee. He was employed as a Maintenance Technician for Hopkinsville Housing Authority and as a Custodian for Hopkinsville Middle School.

He loved Basketball, Football, his grandchildren, and keeping score at HHS sporting events.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Joyce Johnson; grandfather, Oscar Bard; and grandmother, Garthie Johnson.

Survivors include his devoted companion, Carrie Joiner; children, Charles D. (Carla) Johnson and Candace (Rodney) Johnson; siblings, Sheri Johnson Catlett and George (Janice) Johnson; grandchildren, Brian OKeno Brown, Joshua DeKwan Johnson, Jalen Derrell Johnson, Remi Eriye Manning, Rahzir Emaurion Manning, and Rakhi Emariye Manning; 3 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
