Clinton was a member of Church Hill Baptist Church where he served as an Usher. He was a U.S. Army Veteran that enjoyed music, cooking, working puzzle books, and watching TV.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Ann Bussell and Michael Turnley; son, Clinton Turnley, Jr.; Wife, Elizabeth Kim Turnley.
