Colister Evelyn Quisenberry Brown Wharton, 96, Trigg County, KY died Friday, October 9, 2020 at Evergreen Crossing Nursing Home, Indianapolis, IN of natural causes.
Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Gamble Funeral Home with the Rev. James A. Green officiating. Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 17, 2020, 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Gamble Funeral Home.
A native of Trigg County, she was born November 4, 1923, daughter of the late Herbert and Lula Bell Lander Quisenberry.
Colister was a retired employee of Arnold's Department Store where she had worked for 31 years. She had also worked for Social Butterfly.
Colister was a member of Gainsville Baptist Church for 40 years, where she was a member of the Choir. she later joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Choir. Upon moving to Indianapolis she joined the Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mothers Board a member of the Mass Choir and the Food Pantry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, John R. Brown, Henry Wharton, four siblings, Robert "MC" Quisenberry, Mae Mitchell, Flossie Brown, Joe Beasley.
Survivors include, daughter, Mae Grace Brown, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter.
