Don Mitchell Newell, 78 died Friday, April 2, 2021 at Christian Health Center of natural causes.

A native of Whitley County, KY, he was born July 21, 1942, son of the late Norman and Virginia Cole Newell.

Don was a member of Montgomery Elizabeth Baptist Church. He retired after 30 years of service from the US Army. While in the military he trained troops. He had also worked  for Arch Minerals, Corbin, KY as a Water Analyst.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Newell.

Survivors are his wife, Dr. Barbara Newell, three children, Steve Newell, Kiyana Michelle Newell, Taylor (Adam) Lentz, one brother, Garland Newell,  and one grandchild.
