Doris Jean Bussell Houston, 79, died, Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

A native of Christian County, she was born April 30, 1941, daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel Hobson Bussell, Jr.

Doris Jean Bussell Houston was a member of Durrett Avenue Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Choir. She was also one of the oldest members of the Church. She was employed as a Nurse's Aide at Western State Hospital, from which she retired after 30 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-Danita Barbour and three sisters-Betty Quarles, Janice Byers and Elizabeth Bussell.

She is survived by four- children-Anthony Barbour, Hopkinsville, KY; Carol Harris, St. Petersburg, FL; Ronald (Tracy) Barbour, Clarksville, TN; Gary Barbour, Hopkinsville, KY; siblings-Diane Gray, Betsy M. White, Linda Hector, Jerry Bussell, Terry Bussell, Clarence Bussell, III, all of Hopkinsville, KY; Larry Bussell, Maryland; Kenny R. Bussell, Louisville, KY; Charles Bussell, Central City, KY and six grandchildren.
