Dorothea Bell Brown Matlock Allensworth, 79, died at 9:26 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2020 at her home of natural causes.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Gamble Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Deeds officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gamble Funeral Home.  A native of Hopkinsville, she was born December 17, 1940, the daughter of the late Otis Matlock and Lena Bell Harris.

She was formerly employed as a Nurse's Aide at Medco Pembroke Nursing Home.  She was a member of Durrett Avenue Baptist.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allensworth, three brothers, Claude Matlock, Robert Dunn and Ronald Dunn, one granddaughter, Tiara Wilford.

Survivors include her son, Robert Merriweather, daughters-Angela Matlock, Kimberly Matlock, Tarsha Merriweather, Sisters, Kay Ellen Mumford, Shirley O'Neal, Mary Lawrence, Alma J. Penn, Georgia E. Thompson, and Betty Jane White, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
