Dorothy "Bates" Wilson Burrus, 86, died Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Covington's Convalescent Center of natural causes.

A native of Christian County, she was born March 3, 1935, daughter of the late Edward and Lucy Cox Wilson.

Dorothy was a member of First Street Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Mothers Board, Ushers Board, Senior Choir and Sunday School. She was also a former member of the Christian Women's Around the Clock.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Elizabeth Brown, Bessie Mae Powers and five brothers, Robert T. Wilson, James Wilson, Edgar Wilson, Austin Wilson and Frank Wilson.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Wilson, brother, Charles Wilson, sisters, Emma Anderson, Dorothy (Christopher) Edmonds, Ida B. Thomas,  and four grandchildren.
