Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Hall Catlett was born on October 6, 1934, to the late Douglas Hall and Elnora Tutt Hall in Todd
County, Kentucky.
She was married to the late Reverend Turner Catlett, Jr., in 1955 and remained married for 53 years
until his transition in 2008. The union was blessed with three daughters and two sons.
Dorothy was the Valedictorian of her High School Class. She instilled the love and importance of education
to her children, of which three graduated from Kentucky State University, one from Western Kentucky University, and from Eastern Kentucky University.
She also has many grandchildren who have graduated from various colleges and universities. Dorothy worked in many companies over the years as a seamstress and/or cook.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was a faithful member and servant at several
churches throughout her life which included Mt. Zion Methodist in Elkton, KY, Cedar Bluff Baptist in Pembroke, KY (Church Secretary for over 20 years), and Campbell Street Baptist in Hopkinsville, KY. She was also an honorary member of St. John United Methodist
in Shelbyville, KY.
God called Dorothy home on the evening of Friday, May 22, 2020, to be with Him in glory. She had battled several health
issues over the years and fought a good fight by the grace of God. Dorothy leaves to mourn her children Glenora (Michael) Beckham of Atlanta,GA, Michael (Dianna) Catlett of Evansville, IN, Vicki (James) Davie of Brooklyn, NY, Yvonne (Tony) Collins of Lithia
Springs, GA, and Kelvin (Shanta) Catlett of Shelbyville, KY. A brother, Harold (Cynthia) Hall, 23 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Hall (Robert) McCarley,
and a brother, Edward (Sylvia) Hall.

A private funeral for the immediate family only, due to social distancing will be held at Gamble Funeral Home on 05/30/2020 at 10AM.  A private burial will be held at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
