These many roles speak to a man who gave of himself wholeheartedly, serving wherever he was needed.
Elder Ulysses Tindolph Poston, born November 19, 1952, passed away on October 25, 2026. His life was marked by faithful service, steady work, and a deep commitment to both his family and his church community.
He attended WKU and went on to work as a stocker at Cayce Mill Lightning for 27 years, a reflection of the dedication and consistency that shaped his life. Beyond his work, his faith stood at the center of who he was. At Good Shepherd Church, he served as a member, Elder of the Church, Assistant Pastor, Sunday School Teacher, and Custodian. These many roles speak to a man who gave of himself wholeheartedly, serving wherever he was needed and touching lives through both leadership and humble labor. Among the accomplishments he held dear was being ordained to be an elder, a calling that reflected his devotion and spiritual commitment. He also cherished Scripture, especially Psalm 23 and Revelation 13 and 14.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Dewan (Donna) Sharber, and his grandson, Donovan Sharber. He is also survived by his brothers Phillip Mark (Gloria) Poston, Frelin Bernard (Barbara) Poston, and Maurice Lewis (Carrie) Poston, whose shared bond as siblings remained an important part of his family story. May those who loved him find comfort in the memories they carry and in the example of faith and service he leaves behind.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lennie Lewis Poston; his father, Frelin Poston; and his brothers James T. Henry and Nelson Henry.
Visitation will be held on November 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Church, 212 Sanderson Drive, Hopkinsville, Kentucky 42240. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, 5817 Fort Campbell Blvd, Hopkinsville, Kentucky 42240.
Elder Ulysses Tindolph Poston will be remembered with love for his steadfast spirit, his years of service, and the faith that guided his life. His memory will remain a blessing to all who knew him.
