she now rests among those who went before her
Elizabeth Gay Jessup, born August 7, 1976, departed this life on September 15, 2026. Her passing brings deep sorrow to those who knew and loved her, while also calling to mind a life marked by care for others, devotion to family, and the simple joys that brought her happiness.
Elizabeth worked as a Med Tech/Aide at Western State Hospital, a role that reflected her steady presence and her willingness to serve. In her life away from work, she found pleasure in fishing, sharing dinner with family, and traveling. These were the moments that helped shape the memories her loved ones now hold close—times of togetherness, conversation, laughter, and quiet enjoyment.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Janie Crain; her daughters, Ashland Killebrew and Kenyon Talley; her sisters, Virginity Jessup and Christina Weston; her grandchildren, Naomi Killebrew and Josiah Killebrew; her devoted niece, Re'Maiah Jessup; her best friends, Bertha Smith, Darlene Coleman, Chanita Parker, and James Welch; and her stepchildren, Lashayla Hill, Sierra Hathaway, and Myesha Hill. In each of these relationships, Elizabeth’s life found expression through love, connection, and the enduring bonds of family and friendship.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Wilson; her grandmother, Garvie Jessup; her grandfather, Oscar D. Jessup; her uncle, Larry Jessup; and her stepfather, Clarence Crain. Their memories remained part of the story of her life, and she now rests among those who went before her.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on September 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Gamble Funeral Home, 1311 S Liberty St., Hopkinsville, Kentucky 42240. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the same location.
Elizabeth Gay Jessup will be remembered with love for the life she lived, the people she held dear, and the moments she shared so generously. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her and remain a lasting blessing in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
