Obituary

Frank James Thomas, Jr., son of Ida Wilson Thomas and the late Frank Thomas, Sr., was born September 29, 1955, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

Frank was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist, where he served as a greeter. He always had a warm welcome for the members and visitors who came through the doors.

Frank was a US Army veteran; he also served in the Army National Guard for several years, and he later worked as a mail carrier with the US Postal Service, from which he retired after thirty-five years.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Raymond Thomas, Frances Elnora Thomas, Paulette and Claudette Thomas, and William Douglas
Thomas.

On Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, Frank departed from this life. He leaves to mourn his passing three children, Frank Warfield, Christopher (Julie) Thomas, and Frank James (Dava) Thomas, III; siblings, Bernice Lyle, Velma Jean (L.Z.) Pollard, Frances (Jerry) Brown and Rodney Thomas; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends.
