Hattie Jane Mimms Waddell, 80, died Friday, July 30, 2021 at her home.

Mask are required to attend funeral service.

A native of Christian County, she was born May 31, 1941 daughter of the late Frank Howard Mimms and Mollie Lucy Ann Hopson Mimms.

Hattie was a member of Pleasant Green C.M.E. Church, there she served as Stewardess, a member of the Choir and also the Kitchen Committee.

Hattie spent 30 years teaching Head Start (Durrett Avenue Head Start and Auburn Head Start) before becoming the Owner, Director and Daycare Provider for Waddell Play & Learn Childcare Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Waddell, one daughter, Eunice Cain, grandson, Ernest Simmons and a sister Pearline Williams.

She is survived by two daughters, Ernestine Waddell-Bell and Eugenia Marie (Steven) Bailey, Hopkinsville, KY; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
