Hattie Irene Palmer McGowan, 94 passed away Monday, May 23, 2022, at her home with her family by her side.

Born in Cerulean, KY on March 15, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Alberta Wallace Palmer.

Irene as she was affectionally called was a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health began to fail.

She enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing, making cakes, and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Caleb McGowan, Three sons-Luther McGowan, Ronnie McGowan, George Anderson, a daughter-Bobby Jean Leavell, and 13 siblings.

She is survived by her daughters: Florence Gude, Katie Buckner, and Shelia Dillard

Sons: Wayne McGowan and Tony McGowan

25 grandchildren, a host of great, great-great, and great-great-great-grandchildren.
