James Henry Cager, 79, Hopkinsville, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, in Hopkinsville, KY.

Entered into life, Mr. James H. Cager, the son of the late Morris Hayes "Pete" Cager and Equlia Bell Russell was born November 16, 1945, in Todd County, Kentucky.

At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Mt. Zion CME Church.

James was a living husband who married, Sarah E. Fox on August 2, 1979. This union was blessed with one daughter, Melissa Cook; two grandchildren, Arianna (Jamie) Cook Lantrip, and Lea Cook.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Cora Echols, Lucille Kenner, and Silas Cager

James was devoted to his family. He served in the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years. He served two tours in the Vietnam War and was quick to share his wartime stories with all. After retiring from the military, he worked with the Christian County School System and retired from that job as well. James continued to work until his fall in early August.
