James Allen Northington, 65, Hopkinsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in Murfreesboro, TN.

James, the son of the late, James O. Northington and Shirley D. Crump, was born on September 8, 1959, in Christian County, KY.

James was a member of Works at Grace Interdenominational Church where he was the Associate Minister. He was a U.S. ARMY Veteran and 1978 Football Hall of Famer.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Carl Stevenson Grubbs; grandmother, Mary H. Crump Turner.

Survivors include his children, LeMar (Tiffany) Northington, Prince Northington, Shawn (Tiffany) Northington; Siblings, Cheryl Cheatham, Mary (Tommy) Springer, Lisa (Christopher) Legate, Claude (Lisa) Grubbs; 9 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
