James Omie White, Sr., 76, Hopkinsville, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in Hopkinsville, KY.

James, the son of Omie Sidney White and Hattie Oldham Davenport, was born on September 30, 1948, in Christian Co. KY.

James was a Virginia Street Baptist Church member and retired from Phelps Dodge.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Ava Marie Davenport; wife, Dorothy White

Survivors include his children, Letitia Jones, James White, Jr., James White, Jamie Majors, JaVonte White Robinson, James Johnson, and Cynthia Gray; brother, Adlai Davenport; Grandchildren he raised, Jametrell Johnson, Jatrayvion Johnson, Keyon Buckner, and Riyel Robinson; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
