Jerry Anthony Day, 70, passed away on October 30, 2026. He was born on September 8, 1956.

Jerry will be remembered as a hardworking man who spent his career as a truck driver for Ole South Trucking. He enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought him close to others, including talking on his CB, fishing, and playing video games with his sons. He was also a loyal fan of the Miami Dolphins, a team he followed with enthusiasm.

Above all, Jerry’s life was centered on his family. He is survived by his wife, Genise Day; children, Crystal Ferreira, Christina (Benjie) Allen, Britney Day, Jeremy (Morgan) Day, James Day, and Kerry (Adeia) Day; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Janice Day, and by his special friend, Lucinda Davis. Those who knew Jerry will remember the connections he shared with the people he loved and the time he spent enjoying life with them.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kay Day; his father, Jerry Day; and his daughter, Toni Ferreira.

A memorial service for Jerry Anthony Day will be held at 12:00 p.m. on November 13, 2026, at Gamble Funeral Home, 1311 S Liberty St., Hopkinsville, KY 42240.

Jerry’s memory will be cherished by his family and friends, and his presence will be deeply missed.
