Joe Leavell Jr. was born March 27, 1956, in Christian County, Kentucky to the late Flossie Mae Thomas Leavell and Joe James Leavell.

At a very early age, Joe accepted Christ and joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, KY. There he was a member for over 40 years and served on the Usher Board and Men's Choir. Joe was employed by Rogers Group where he retired after 20+ years.

Joe had a passion for making people laugh, helping others, firing up the BBQ pit and spending time with family and friends on the porch.

He was preceded in death by one brother James Edward Leavell, sister Deborah Ann Day and his wife of over 38 years, Vendella Leavell.

He leaves to cherish his memory , his sons Minister DeAndre Tyler (Aleah), Rev. Joe T. Leavell (Tierra) and JeVon Leavell; sisters Frances Maypray and Rosalyn Leavell ; brothers James Leavell (Johnetta), Michael Leavell and Anthony Keyth; brother in law Rev. Donald Day; sister in laws Vancella Leavell, Patricia Albert and Angela Davis; grandchildren Jarae, Kaliyah, Karleigh, Jordan, Amaya and Alysiah; devoted niece/daughter Tarreka Bailey (DeAriel) and a host of other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
