Lucille Burrus Boyd, 84, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky, Bowling Green, KY.

A native of Christian County, she was born January 11, 1937, daughter of the late Alec Burrus and Mary Elizabeth Rawlins Matlock.

Lucille retired as a Teachers Aide with the New York Public School System.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Boyd, daughter, Regina Thompson, grandson, Derrick Thompson Jr; granddaughter, Amber Thompson, sisters, Clara Edwards, Lorraine Day, brothers, Jerry Rawlins, Darryl Matlock.

Lucille leaves to continue her legacy siblings, Bobby (Joanna) Matlock, Amos Kenner, Dorothy (John) Bell, Wilma (Darrin) Leavell, Sonya Burrus, and Carol Robinson. Two grandchildren, Kristina Thompson-Taylor, and Poiema (Ebonie) Israel. 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and close friends.
