Lucille (Baird) Finch, age 98, departed this life on April 2, 2020 at Creekwood Place Nursing & Rehab Center in Russellville, KY.

She was born January 2, 1922 to the parents of Daniel and Leona (Cook) Baird in Russellville, KY and preceded in death by her husband, James Ulysses Finch, daughter, Lorma Dale Bell, son, John Bennett Finch, daughter, Bennie Jean Finch, sister, Francis Rachel Baird, and brother Morgan Dee Baird.

She attended Oakville grade school and graduated from Adairville High School at the age of 16. Lucille wed her husband, a Cave Spring farmer, on December 27, 1939.  During her life, she worked as a cook at Russellville Middle and High Schools, Knob City High School, Kuhn's Grill, Big K restaurant, Russellville Country Club, and the Russellville Women's Club.  Later in her career she catered private parties, where she solidified her popularity in the local community.  An advocate for equal rights, she was a former board member of the local Office of the Ombudsman. Logan Country showed its appreciation for her life-long devotion to farmers and honored her as the 1966 Tobacco Festival Parade Marshall.  She worshiped at Mariah Grove Baptist Church, where she was the Church Mother and oldest member.

She is survived by her loving son, James Dee Finch (Mary) of Russellville, KY, devoted son-in-law, Walter W Bell of Clarksville, TN; her six grandchildren, Jacqueline Mincer (Billy) of Hephzibah, GA; Arrita Bell of Waldorf, MD; Derrick Bell (Ava) of Coppell, TX; Kelvin Bell (Gospa) of Ramstein, Germany; Ike Finch (Shelby) of Whitsett, NC; Vanity Hampton (Timmy) of Russellville, KY, and a host of great-grandchildren, family and friends.
