Obituary

Ma'Riyah's life, though so short, was filled with profound love and hope, forever etching her presence in the hearts of those who cherished her most.

With hearts weighed down by sorrow yet uplifted by the memory of a brief bright light, we announce the passing of Ma'Riyah Monroe Hicks, who left this world far too soon on August 4, 2026. Born on June 27, 2026, Ma'Riyah's life, though so short, was filled with profound love and hope, forever etching her presence in the hearts of those who cherished her most.

Ma'Riyah was a beloved daughter to Kaeshawn Hicks and Ti'Miyah Hicks, whose dreams and joys surrounded her from the moment she entered their lives. She was the precious sister of Kae'Miyah Hicks and Ka'Zir Hicks, who now carry her memory as a part of their own young journeys. Her adoring grandmothers, Yolanda (Willie Gardner) Williams and Keeshawndra Gude, held her dear in their arms and souls, treasuring the blessing of her arrival into the family.

Though her time here was tragically brief, Ma'Riyah’s spirit resonated through every embrace and gentle smile, bringing bonds of closeness, laughter, and a faith in tomorrow. The love poured into her was immense, matched only by the hope she inspired. Her family looked forward to every milestone, every coo, and every sleepy yawn, cherishing even the smallest moments.

We find comfort in believing she is welcomed with loving arms by those who were called home before her grandfather, Tyrone James.

Her absence leaves an unfillable place, and yet her memory will remain, bright and everlasting, for her family and all who awaited her future. In the cradle of love that enveloped her, Ma'Riyah brought her family closer and reminded everyone of the fragile beauty and sacredness of life.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Ma'Riyah’s life. Visitation will be held at Gamble Funeral Home in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, on August 14, 2026, from noon to 1:00 PM. Immediately following, a Funeral Service will take place at Gamble Funeral Home at 1:00 PM. A further Funeral Service will also be held at Cave Springs Cemetery, located at 2120 Greenville Road, Hopkinsville.

As we say goodbye to Ma'Riyah Monroe Hicks, we hold close the love she brought into this world. Though her days were few, her impact endures—her memory, a gentle reminder of the depth of our love and the lasting impression left by even the briefest presence.
