Martez Nelson, 45, Hopkinsville, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, in Christian Co. KY.

Martez, the son of Willis Haskins and Deborah (Theodore) Nelson, was born on January 28, 1979, in Hopkinsville, KY.

Martez was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. He was employed as a janitor with Quality Cleaning. He enjoyed helping within the community, fishing, barbecuing, listening to music, playing cards, being outdoors camping and cutting grass. He was a part of the Durrett Avenue Neighborhood Association and volunteered at Challenge House.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Annie Mae Jordan and Sherill Jordan; paternal grandparents, Thelma Thompson and Jessie Haskins.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Lina Mae Grace Nelson; Siblings, Tamekea Nelson and Jasmin Grooms; Bonus Dad, Bobby J. Grooms; significant other, Barbara Cochran; 3 nephews and 1 niece; a host of cousins and friends.
