Marvin Emillio Sellers, born December 9, 1959, passed away on September 14, 2026. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, veteran, and grandfather whose presence brought conversation, laughter, and steady strength to those around him.

Marvin served his country with honor in the U.S. Army for 22 years, retiring after a long and faithful military career. He also retired from Flying J’s, marking another chapter of dedicated work and commitment. Beyond his years of service and labor, he found joy in the simple and meaningful rhythms of daily life: playing dominoes, spending time with his grandchildren, working, and talking. Those who knew him will remember the ease with which he connected with others and the warmth he brought into ordinary moments.

At the heart of Marvin’s life was his family. He is survived by his wife, Laurecia Sellers, and by their children, Sharicka Irving, Sir Thomas Rhodes, and Deandrea Rhodes. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Arthur Lee Scott, Cynthia Scott, Darby Sellers, Don Sellers, Jimmy Sellers, Jr., and Sylvia Whittington. Marvin’s family circle also includes his sister-in-laws, Jacquelyn Irving, Bernice Poole, Greta Croney, Kathy Smith; his brother-in-law, Frank (Venus) Irving; and his goddaughters, Diona (Dawon) Laremore and Yolanda Williams. He will be deeply missed by all who shared in his life and love, and his memory will remain a lasting comfort to those closest to him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Scott; his father, Levern Whittington; his brothers, Michael Sellers and Greg Sellers; and his stepfather, Jimmy Sellers.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on September 21, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 801 East 4th Street, Hopkinsville, Kentucky 42240. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, 5817 Fort Campbell Blvd, Hopkinsville, Kentucky 42240.

Marvin Emillio Sellers lived a life marked by service, hard work, family devotion, and fellowship. His legacy endures in the love he gave, the conversations he shared, and the many lives touched by his steadfast presence.
