Mary Frances Sallee James, 94, Hopkinsville, passed on Thursday, December 8, 2022.

Mary, the daughter of the late John and Beatrice Meriweather Sallee, was born on August 16, 1928, in Christian County.

She was a member of Durrett Ave. Baptist Church and worked as a housekeeper at Holiday Inn for 35+ years.

Mary enjoyed flowers, keeping her yard beautiful, and cleaning.

She is proceeded in death by her 3 children, Barbara Lewis, John Oates, Eugene Oats; 1 great grandson, Antonio Lett; and her siblings.

Survivors include 2 granddaughters, Johnetta (Andrew) Wade, Charmaine (Michael) Ware; 3 grandsons, William (Sara) Lewis, David (Monique) Lewis, Anthony (Stephanie) Lewis; 9 great-grandchildren, Jarvis Ross, Derron Lett, Christine Massie, D.J. Lewis, C.J. Merritt, Kashad Lewis, Aniyah Lewis, Amari Lewis, Josiah Lewis; 8 great-great-grandchildren; devoted niece, Janetta Leavell; God child, Susan Prouse; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
