Michael Louis Turnley, 69, died Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Doctors Hospital, Augusta, GA.

A native of Christian County, Ky, he was born February 15, 1952, son of the late Norvel and Edith Turnley.

Michael was a member of Zion Hope Baptist Church, he had served as Deacon, member of the Choir and Ushers Board. Michael joined the US Army and retired after 23 years of service. After retiring he began working as Correctional Officer with the Kentucky Department of Corrections and as an Assistant Center Standard Officer with the Indiana Atterbury Job Corps, he later joined the National Security Agency (NSA) as a Consultant.

In addition to serving as a board member for the Red Cross, he was recognized for directing Quality Communications for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, NY.

Michael is survived by his wife, Tanya Barnhill Turnley, sisters, Betty Ann Bussell, Linda S. (William) Cox, Delores M. (Hoy), Denise Turnley, Aretha A. (Michael) Burman, brothers. Norvel E. Turnley, Steve A. (Deborah) Turnley, George D. (Berndine) Turnley, Lexington, Clinton Turnley, Linton Turnley, and Calvin L. Turnley.
