With hearts touched by both sorrow and gratitude, we reflect upon the remarkable life of Min. Rosetta Bacon, who departed this world on July 18, 2026. Born on February 17, 1950, in Trigg County, Kentucky, Min. Rosetta Bacon embraced her journey with steadfast faith, compassion, and an indomitable spirit that inspired all who were privileged to know her.

Min. Rosetta’s formative years in Trigg County set the stage for a lifetime of accomplishment and service. She graduated from Trigg County High School, pursuing higher learning with unwavering determination. Her academic journey led her to earn a Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting and communication—a pursuit that would define much of her early career and cement her reputation as a trailblazer. Her resonant voice graced the airwaves of Nashville, Tennessee, where she broadcasted for three prominent radio stations: WVOL, WKDA, and WKDF. These broadcasts were not simply work, but a ministry in their own right, weaving joy and connection throughout her community.

Her entrepreneurial acumen shone forth as an Insurance Agent with Settlers Insurance, where she served clients with integrity and deep care for their well-being. Yet her sense of vocation extended far beyond professional accolades. Having proudly served her country in the U.S. Army, Rosetta exemplified devotion to others through both duty and service.

In 2006, Min. Rosetta Bacon followed a divine calling by becoming licensed to preach at New Antioch Church of Praise, a milestone that echoed the faith she embraced decades earlier when she accepted Christ as her LORD and Savior at Little River Baptist Church. Her ministry was not confined to the pulpit; it radiated through every conversation, every kind word, and every soulful note she played on the piano—another of her cherished talents.

Ever the pioneer, Rosetta Bacon was one of the distinguished founders of Murray State University’s Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, shaping a legacy of sisterhood and community engagement that will endure for generations. Her life overflowed with vibrancy and joy, whether indulging in her passions—shopping, dining out with loved ones, and savoring Popeyes chicken—or nurturing relationships that became the cornerstone of her existence.

She now joins those gone before her, reunited in eternity with parents John Thomas and Ruth C. Bacon; brothers Will A. Mason, Joe D. Mason, and Rev. John M. Bacon; sister Althea M. Bacon Bush; and beloved Tracey P. Bacon.

Min. Rosetta Bacon’s story is one of faith realized, dreams pursued, and love freely given—a legacy written in the hearts of all who cherished her. May her memory be forever held in gentle reverence.

Min. Rosetta’s love and influence transcend generations. She leaves behind a devoted family: brothers Rev. Dr. Jerry T. (Alberta) Bacon, Elder Bobby L. (Pennie) Bacon, and Min. Spencer O. Bacon; devoted caretaker Mae Bacon; a host of adoring nieces and nephews; as well as several devoted friends whose lives were radiant with her care. They will remember her gentle humor, wise counsel, and the warmth that made every gathering feel like a homecoming.

Those wishing to pay their respects and honor her memory are invited to a visitation on July 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Gamble Funeral Home, 1311 S Liberty St., Hopkinsville, KY. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment with all due honors will take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, 5817 Fort Campbell Blvd, Hopkinsville, KY, at 1:00 p.m.
