Minnie Louvenia Dickinson Childs was born on April 8, 1921, to the late John Dickinson, Sr. and Willie Ferris Rollins in Todd County, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her 5 siblings- Walter Marion, Rufus, John Rudolph, Marie Virginia and Vera Lee.
At an early age Minnie accepted Christ as her Savior at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She later united with the Durrett Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member and the oldest female member.
Minnie was married to Carl Edward Childs on May 31, 1945. They shared 56 years of marriage. Their marriage was a celebration of love which they shared with their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.
Minnie loved crocheting, baking, quilting, canning fruits and vegetables, and being surrounded by the ones she loved. She also loved traveling to places near and far with her family.
She worked for years at the Pennyroyal Regional Mental Health Center. Upon retirement, she began keeping her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the love of her life.
On Monday, December 20, God sent an angel to escort her to her heavenly home.
Minnie leaves to cherish her memory, two children - Carolyn Barker and Vivian Childs-Tucker, a devoted son-in-law, David Tucker, two grandchildren, Christopher Carlton and Angela Louvenia, and four great grandchildren, Alana Minnae, Madison Lichelle, Michael Cerrone and Karlson Duane. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
