In Loving Memory of Mother Rachel Sellers

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” — Psalm 116:15

Rachel Sellers, 87, of Trigg County, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026, at home surrounded by family and friends.

A native of Trigg County, she was born on May 15, 1939, and the daughter of the late Bill and Helen Thacker Cheatham.

Mother Rachel Sellers was a devoted woman of God whose life was a beautiful testimony of unwavering faith, fervent prayer, love, strength, perseverance, and trust in the Lord.

Mother Sellers believed deeply in the power of prayer and faithfully carried her family, loved ones, friends, and those around her before the Lord. Through every season of life, she remained a source of comfort, wisdom, encouragement, and strength to many. She was not only a loving mother, but also a spiritual covering and guiding light to all who were blessed to know her.

As the mother of nine children, Mother Sellers devoted her life to loving, nurturing, teaching, and praying for her family. Her children were among her greatest joys, and the values she instilled in them will continue to live on through generations.

Mother Rachel Sellers was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Sellers, and her beloved son, Donald Curlin. Siblings, Cornelius Cheatham, Leavell Cheatham, Katherine Bridges, Dorothy Trice, Jane Mencer, Hattie McKee, Jerlene Cheatham, and Helen Daily.

Although their passing brought great sorrow, she continued to walk by faith, trusting in God’s promises and holding firmly to the hope of eternal life.

She leaves to cherish her memory of her eight children, Apostle Garfield (Mary) Curlin Jr., Cathy (Gregory) Richmond, Wendy (Kevin) Mackie, Fitzgerald Sellers, Eyvette Sellers, Zachery Sellers, David (Jackie) Sellers, Audrey Sellers.

She also leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, her church family, dear friends, and countless lives touched by her kindness, wisdom, love, and testimony.

Mother Sellers’ life reflected what it means to remain faithful through every season. She trusted God through difficult times, persevered through life’s challenges, and continued to pour into those around her. Though her earthly voice is now silent, the prayers she prayed,

the lessons she taught, and the love she shared will continue through the lives of those she leaves behind.

While we mourn her earthly departure, we rejoice in the assurance that she has gone home to be with the Lord and is reunited with those who preceded her in death.

Her earthly journey is complete.

Her race has been run.

Her faith has become sight.

Mother Rachel Sellers will forever be loved, forever be remembered, and forever remain a cherished part of the legacy she built through faith, family, love, and prayer.
