Minister Richard "Buddy" Arthel Gude, 81, Indianapolis, passed on Sunday, April 16, 2023, of natural causes.

Richard, the son of the late Julian and Hewell Irvin Gude, was born on August 6, 1941, in Trigg County.

Richard accepted Christ at Cave Spring Baptist Church. He was a faithful and dedicated worker at Cave Spring Baptist Church until he moved to Illinois and then became a member of Second Baptist Missionary Church. He was a current member of Agape Apostolic Faith Assembly and an ordained preacher at Second Baptist Missionary Church.

He was also a machine operator at Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, and he drove for the Amish.

He enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by siblings, Frank "Norman" Gude, Bertha Faulkner; 1 grandson, Earl Tinsley; and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Aria Hatcher.

Survivors include his wife, Marsha Gude; 9 children, Gary (Erica) Gude, Gerald (Wendy) Gude, Zina (Tommy) Wilson, Brenda Gude, Timothy (Sabrina) Gude, Vernetta Kennedy, Robert Gude, Lacia Douglas, Tonya Douglas; 3 siblings, Julian Gude Jr., Anthony Gude, Lisa Gude; 18 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives.
