Ricky Dean Bibb, Sr.
October 28, 1958 – April 9, 2025

Ricky Dean Bibb, Sr., 66, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away on April 9, 2025. Born in Russellville, Kentucky on October 28, 1958, Ricky was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was known by most as "Coach Bibb."

Ricky attended Russellville High School, where he was lovingly known as Turtle. He held the record for rushing yards at RHS for many years.

He later met his ex-wife, Katheryne Walker, and together they had three children, Marcus, Ricky Jr., and Mariah. Ricky went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College and later a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Behavioral Sciences from Western Kentucky University, where he met his long term partner, Monika Wilson. Together Ricky and Monika completed their family with the birth of Camdyn.

Coach Bibb dedicated much of his life to youth sports, coaching little league football, basketball, baseball, and softball. Everyone feared the Bad News Bears, who went undefeated, winning Toy Bowl after Toy Bowl! WHO DAT? What? WHO DAT? What? Who dat think they gonna beat them Bears?! And every player knew the consequences of letting another team cross the 50 yard line, let alone scoring. Up-downs and suicides may have been his favorite forms of punishment.

To many, he was far more than a coach—he was a mentor, a role model, and a father figure. He considered every player a part of his extended family, and his impact on the community will be felt for generations. He picked up many players in that old Station Wagon. Coach Bibb made sure his players were not just great on the field or court but also good people in their communities. His dedication to his players and community led him to being named a WBKO Hometown Hero.

He was the proud owner of N'Joy Lawn Care Services, where he worked tirelessly and took great pride in serving others. A passionate sports fan, Ricky loved cheering on the Louisville Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys.

Ricky was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Jean Bibb Watkins; his sister, Toynia O'Shea Walker; and his brothers, Michael Durant Bibb and Anthony Wayne Bibb.

Ricky is survived by his devoted companion, Monika Wilson, who stood by his side and brought joy and comfort throughout the years. He is also survived by his children: Marcus Bibb, Sr. (Demica) of Bowling Green, KY; Ricky Bibb, Jr. (Dena) of Smyrna, TN; Mariah Bibb Fox (Larry) of Upper Marlboro, MD; and Camdyn Bibb of Bowling Green, KY.

He also leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren: Dayiaone Bibb, T'ona Shaver, James Good, Halley Fox, Kamarion Bibb, Zion Johnson, Marcus Bibb, Jr., DeeVyne Bibb, Melody Bibb, Reagan Fox; and great-grandchildren: Lorde Fox and Ladie Fox;  Godchildren Khalesia Wade and D'Mari Wade; fur babies Cocoa and Michael Anthony.

Ricky is also survived by his Aunt, LaVaughn Duncan, and two brothers, Pernell Ulysses Bibb and William "Jae" Allison. Ricky also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, who considered him a father figure, and a host of cousins and friends who loved him dearly.

He will also be remembered by countless extended family, friends, and former players whose lives he touched with his generous spirit and unwavering dedication.

Ricky's life was defined by love, leadership, and legacy. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
