Sarah Lee Bunton, 80, Auburn, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, in Auburn, KY.

Sarah Lee Bunton was born on November 3, 1943, the daughter of the late Anna M. Viers Rigsby and Bennie Torrence, Jr. of Auburn, Kentucky. She attended and graduated from high school in Auburn. In 1961, she married Joseph D. Bunton. They made Auburn their cherished home and remained in the community as lifelong residents.

She was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church (Auburn, Kentucky), where she was a member of the choir and served on the usher board. Sarah worked in the manufacturing industry and was employed at Auburn Hosiery Mills, Holley and Country Oven Bakery. She also worked at Tyco before retiring.

Sarah was spirited and famously known to family and friends as a "firecracker." She was beloved for her humor and tell-it-like-it-is personality. She enjoyed listening to old-school music, the Blues and watching Westerns such as Gunsmoke. Sarah also loved the color purple, fresh flowers and she never turned down a chance to take a selfie with her grandchildren. However, her most favorite pastime was spending quality time with her family and friends, whom she loved dearly and laughed with frequently. She will be forever in our hearts and truly missed by All.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bunton; sisters, Lillian Beason, Ernestine Viers, and Georgia Robey; brothers, Willie Rigsby and Richard Rigsby.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane Livingston; son, Steven (Tammy) Bunton; sisters, Martha (Charles Ray) Covington and Eldora Sheldon; sister-in-law, Nanyce (Curtis) Kidd; brother-in-laws, James (Lillian) Bunton and Neil (Veronica) Bunton; grandsons, Rick Livingston, Jr. and Dalton Livingston; granddaughters, Laila Bunton and Kendra Livingston; one great grandchild; a host of nieces and nephews.
