Sharon Lee Holmes Taylor, 80, Gracey, passed on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

Sharon was the daughter of the late Levi and Pearl Holmes and was born April 6, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Sharon was a member of the 7 Day Adventist Church and worked as a short order cook at Highland Store.

Who was Sharon? She was a daughter, a wife, a mother and grandmother, this was "what" she was. Her life of toil consisted of working as a short order cook, at which she excelled. She also could drive a semi-truck and hung siding on houses, things most women of her era have never done. She loved to sing and sew, played the piano and the accordion, yet could have wired her house, if need be, but this was simply what she "did". She was a woman of keen intellect and inexhaustible curiosity, an amateur theologian who loved the Bible and plumbing its depths. She had a wry sense of humor which only a select few were privy to. She was a woman who would listen, never judging, always loving and accepting, whose wisdom was sought after by not a few. She was so much more which cannot been capsulated in a paragraph. She was a woman whose beautiful smile shall be sorely missed until we can all meet again in that world that has no sickness, no cruel death. May she be at peace eternally.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Richard Starks; grandson, Chad Starks; 2 great grandchildren, Chance and Chase Peterson; and brother, Bill Holmes.

Survivors include her children, Vicki Starks, Holli (Jeff) Hamilton, Todd Starks, and Troy (Dixie) Starks; 6 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
