Shirley Mae Hurt Davie, 80, died Saturday, July 10, 2021 at her residence of natural causes.

Born in Pembroke, KY on March 28, 1941, daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Duncan Hurt.

Shirley was a member of Durrett Avenue Baptist Church. She served as a member of the Mass Choir, Carnation Club, head of the Culinary Arts, Health Aids and one of the designated Chaperone for the Youth Activities.

Shirley was recently employed as a Cook for Hopkinsville High School as well as serving as a Foster Grandparent at Freedom Elementary School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Billy Morris and two brothers, Walter Hurt, Sr. and James D. Hurt.

She is survived by her son, Howard R. Davie, Jr., three daughters, Wanda J. Taylor, Clarice Davie, Mary F. Brim, two brothers, Rev. Rufus (Barbara) Hurt, Rev. Raymond (Shelia) Hurt, eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
