Verna Mae Irvin Watkins, 80, Hopkinsville, passed Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

Born on October 27, 1941, in Cerulean, KY., Verna is the daughter of the late Charles Irvin and Mattie Radford Wadlington.

She was a teacher's aide and was employed at the Head Start Center.  She was a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church.

She enjoyed reading, shopping, and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Watkins, Jr., and 1 son, Christopher Watkins.

Survivors include her children; Tracy Watkins, Valerie Watkins, Isaac Watkins, and Jonathan Watkins. Siblings; Bessie Ladd, Evelyn Boyd, Lela (Eugene) Wilson, Rheda (Kenneth) Gibson, Emma Rascoe, Linda Baker, Rev. Charles Irvin, Richard (Greta) Wadlington, Robert (Laura) Wadlington, Neal (Ella) Wadlington, 1 step-son; Lionel Watkins. 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives.
