Virgil Cornelia "Granny" McReynolds, 88, Hopkinsville, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, in Hopkinsville, KY.

Cornelia, the daughter of the late Henry Lee Russell and Cynthia Russell, was born on March 25, 1937, in Christian Co. KY.

Cornelia was a member of St. Bethlehem Baptist Church where she was active as a Youth Director, Bus Driver, Usher, Choir Director for the Youth Choir, Youth Coordinator, and in charge of the the Praise Dance Team. She was a member of Circle #5, District Usher, Mid-Aged Social Club, and Eastern Star Naomi Chapter. She was named as The Pioneer's Hopkinsville Woman of the Year.

Cornelia was employed as a kitchen supervisor at the A.W. Watts Center. She enjoyed going to church, playing Bingo, serving people, playing cards, traveling, and being "GRANNY" to the entire community and beyond.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert McReynolds; Son, Michael Gilliam; Great grandson, Zachary Cheatham; Siblings, Jeff Russell, Timothy Russell, and Laura Hester.

Survivors include her children, Marethia Williams, Emma (Robert) Hines, Thomas Gilliam Fox, Anita (Charles Lee) Lee, Nadir "Melrose" (Katrina) Najee, Daisy (Ricky) Cheatham, and Aleshia (Rod) Smith; Siblings, Roy (Rose) Russell, Elizabeth Russell, James (Shirley) Russell, George (Clara) Russell, Sandra Taylor, Dwight Russell, Frances Russell, Billy (Dorothy) Russell, and Rita Long; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; Special caretaker/granddaughter, Natalia Cheatham; Special friends, Gwen Parker and Marty Armstrong.
