Obituary

Mrs. Virginia L. Wharton Rogers, daughter of Joe Ephfrom and Katie Beatrice Patterson Wharton was born February 8, 1925, in Trigg County Kentucky. Her parents preceded her in death, Brothers Nathaniel, Elmo, Ephrom, Jr. and sisters, Audie, Daisy, Lela Mae and Florence. She professed belief, accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age joining Bloomsfield Baptist Church Cadiz, KY. Mrs. Virginia sang in the choir and was an active member until moving her Letter to Fellowship and Worship with the Corinth Missionary Baptist Church after marriage.

Mrs. Virginia L. Wharton united in Holy Matrimony July 24, 1944, to Mr. Haywood Rogers and to their Union five children were born. Mrs. Virginia worshipped actively with her Husband, was Musician for the Senior and Junior Choirs of both Corinth Missionary Baptist Church and West Union Baptist Church. She was a member of the Mothers Board and would serve as Musician for both churches for well over 50 years. Mrs. Virginia took immense pride in the blessings granted unto her by the Lord. She was a Homemaker, took well care of her children, grandchildren and diligently worked beside her husband and family to maintain the farm and home. She loved helping others, was an active leader in 4-H and Home Makers Club. Mrs. Virginia enjoyed being a sales representative for Merlite Jewelry and Stanley Home Products. Mr. Haywood Rogers remained her loving and devoted husband for fifty-eight years until separated by his death on this earth May 11, 2002.

Mrs. Virginia departed from this life in her home July 17, 2023, at 4:51 AM with her family by her bedside. She leaves to mourn a devoted Sister, Ms. Alva Grace Bacon, and two Sons: Mr. Joe E. (Patricia) Rogers, Cadiz, KY, Mr. Jimmie L. (Lovey) Rogers, Cadiz, KY, Three Daughters, Mrs. Jossie A. (Charles) Jessup Fairview, KY, Ms. Joyce (Elaine) Haskett, Hopkinsville, KY, and Ms. Jackqueline Rogers, Cadiz, KY, Ten Grandchildren, Sixteen Great, Great Grandchildren and a Host of Nieces, Nephews and other Relatives and Friends.
