Walter Lee "Blue" Bacon, was born February 22, 1936, the son of the late Robert and Etta Bell Dillard Bacon. He transitioned to be with the Lord, January 11, 2025, at his life-long home, as he desired.
At an early age, "Blue" joined the Little River Baptist Church. While worshipping at Little River, he was a loyal trustee, choir member, and assisted the church in any capacity needed.
Walter was known as a hard worker. His love for farming and gardening helped to guide his professional path. He was employed at Mobile Feed Services, Federal Chemical, and he spent the last 18 years at Hopkinsville Elevator. Once he retired, he spent time on his farm, raising livestock.
His favorite downtime was watching sports and Gunsmoke.
In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in death by his siblings, Elmo, Monroe, Roosevelt, Robert "MC", Gordon and Tommy Bacon. Sisters, Dorothy Singleton and Laura Bacon Radford.
Walter is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Coleman Bacon; Children, Barbara Bacon Bussell and Walter Neil Bacon; brother, George Richard Bacon; grandchildren, Javonda Bacon, Clarence Michael Bussell, Jr., Elisha (John) Watkins; great grandchildren, Jamoncell Redd, Jeveah Finch, Sevin Bussell, Aydin Watkins, and Elijon Watkins.
