William Mark Anthony "Dirky" Steele, 55, Hopkinsville, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, in Louisville, KY.

William was the son of the late Willie L. Steele and Anna Shanklin. He was born on October 29, 1968 in Pensacola, Florida.

William was a member of First Street Baptist Church and was employed at U.S. Smokeless Tobacco.

He enjoyed coaching and watching basketball, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was the founder of the Hoptown Hoyas.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Willie L. Steele.

Survivors include his children, DeAnthony Terrell Weaver, Markia Danea Steele, Caitlin Janea Steele, and Deneishia Thomas; siblings, Angela Brown, Rhonda Steele, and Eric (Donna) Hayes; 11 grandchildren; devoted mother in law, Beanita Weaver.
